On one side, its true that doing a portfolio piece inside an engine like source can be limiting. Especially when you want to showcase your capabilities in creating realtime environments from scratch, its not advisable. Like killnpc said, its a really good idea to create a focused environment with a high quality. On the…
I like your work :) I'm not a character artist, but I feel like anybody hiring a character artist would for sure want to see some human characters. Most of the characters you'd be doing would be human (probably), and right now your portfolio doesn't showcase any. Your characters all look like they're from the same art…

do not be discouraged. these pieces display you are very capable. you have the right idea by showcasing each phase of the process as its own. strengthen each, by presenting its directive visually. for example, a sheet of thumbnails may wish to say, "these thumbs are exploring interesting shapes". and a drawing is capable…
Working on an older model for a friend's character, I'm done working on the fingers, they need too much effort for the time I want to put in so I'll focus on rigging the major moving parts such as limbs and face. I just need a basic working rigged model with decent topology to showcase, quality can come later.
I'll be starting on the Steam Carbine a little later this month but I'm excited to see where everyone goes with this challenge! @miriuk It's likely that it has to be manually updated and the people that have the ability to change it just haven't thought about that particular button at the moment. It is stickied in the "3D…
Hey Enodmi I can't wait to see what you come up with! If you have anything you'd like to contribute to his "showcase" i know he'd really appreciate it, the only model we have to play with I can't put up anywhere so he's stuck with sphere images for now haha
To clarify, I know you're excited to post your work, but 1: The general discussion sub forum is not the place. 2: it's generally considered not nice to post a millllllion large images, each in their own post. 3: Your work might better be showcased on a mod forum dedicated to neverwinter nights, not here on a game-art…
They will. Likely CGI, however. There hasn't been a console generation in so long. They are really going to pull some strings and make everyone marvel at what they want us to think these things can do. I still remember the original Xbox E3 showcasing. Some of those technology demos still look good even today!
Loving it! It's not very often you see stuff like this beeing showcased. Kinda reminds me a bit of Wind Waker. Which is a very good thing! ^_^ Only crits I have are that the hay roof looks a bit too orange on some pictures and the leaves on the tree don't really fit in. Keep up the good work!
