That space between the head and the hair, is ANYONE ever going to see that angle? If not, there's no reason to fill it in. Just slap in scalp-vacuum wrapped hair. -

Yes, only cloth wrap on the handle. If you use marvelous designer you can get an awesome result in 5 min for that part. -

Does anyone know how to efficiently make this object in Maya? Basically a coil that wraps around a torus, adustable circumference for the coil, etc. -

I like the concept. I suggest something she wears on her arms. Gloves, gauntlets, hanging sleeves, wraps, or something like that.
