The game industry is very much like this all the time. Things get cut or reduced to the point where the real magic is lost at times. Making games of the AAA magnitude involves many tough choices for sure. I am glad your not totally disheartened :) Limbo happens especially at these stages. I think also the Next Gen push… -

Oddly no. That would be a nice change of pace. I think the issue there is that most schools teach that 'next gen' is realistic and 'stylized' is hand painted only. That's flat out wrong. I would gladly consider 'super next gen' stylized portfolios. -

I had the current gen Bamboo Pen, but sold it when I got my Intuos3 A5 WIDE. The current gen bamboo is excellent and is a great introduction to tablets. I highly recommend it. I also place mine like Ikken. -

Hello everyone! Questions about the hair. 1. How to create hair in ZBrush from fibemesh. 2 how fibermesh translate into a plane. 3.X-Gen what is this (this is a plugin?) And what is different from ornatrix. 4 that more use X-Gen or ornatrix? 5. Your normal workflow or what is often used. Thank you in advance!:) -

Animation really needs to go next gen already. Christ, catching Witcher and the EA conference it's no different from last gen. Intersecting meshes, obvious transitions between cycles and generally still poorly executed on the whole. Fifa looked a so unimpressive. -

Very happy to see all of these assets and levels here! The foliage in FC4 looks absolutely gorgeous. Adam, may I ask if the next-gen trees are based on the same geometry and textures as last-gen/lower lods? Because they look significantly better. -

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
Two movies of the technology behind the game(the Euphoria engine) have been released.Sorry for the dutch link,i couldn't really find it on an english site,but basicly they say what the movies are about. Next gen Star Wars IMO this gives a new meaning to "next-gen". Could be alot of fun messing with those stormtroopers ahah. -

Next gen......I can imagine a lot of "HD+" ports of current gen games (i.e. PC ports at near max settings...). Makes sense if they are taking out backwards compatibility and they're probably quick to bash out too... MAXIMUM PROFIT!!! -
