Hi! =) ...Been working recently on this Winchester 1876. It´s been modeled in 3ds Max. I´m uploading this in my Polycount thread https://polycount.com/discussion/227038/double-barrel-shotgun#latest with other fire guns I´ve already made. Can you please feedback me there? i'd appreciate a lot your comments.
Damian!!!! Thank you for your comment! Without you good sir, my love of foliage would of never become a reality. Your 3d motive tutorials ROCK (which I really respect) and your portfolio work is my biggest inspiration as an environment artist. :D Thank you everyone for the continual motivation :D!! I love polycount.
If it's animation you're into, check out this site : http://www.11secondclub.com/ It's pretty much the animation equivalent of Polycount. As far as programs go, Maya and 3d Studio max are pretty much the industry standards. Maya is generally favoured by animators over Max, but Max has a larger market share in the games…
A 3ds max book with a non-embarrassing cover? Try again. This'll never sell! If it's coming out over here (uk) I'll check it out. I haven't upgraded since Max7, and what better way to brush up than by supporting a fellow Polycounter? Despite the dedication not being aimed at me specifically, you're welcome, heh.
Welcome and good luck! Stick around, read a lot, post your work regularly, even if you don't think its any good. With time and a lot of practice you should see your skills grow amazing amounts. I learned almost everything I know about 3D art from Polycount and its members.
oXYnary he actually made the version from the cartoon, the actual toy is a bit different. not to steal any of dejawolf's thunder, but here is my turtle van from 2 years ago.... http://www.planetquake.com/polycount/cottages/the3dguy/3d/turtlevan/turtlevan_big.jpg like i said only the colors are a tad different, otherwise…
Huh...I'm in the Phoenix area. (Scottsdale, in particular) And I certainly would appreciate some advice and guidance in my pursuit of 3D modeling and animation. Unfortunately, I already have a BA in graphic desgin, so I'm not attending UAT. But if your going to be putting together a little meet-and-greet for local…
Thanks, alvordr! Honestly I am about 80% self-taught, as far as 3d stuff is concerned. My classes were great for introducing me to the tools, and really good for working on projects with groups of people (which is where I learned the most), but the majority of actual practical knowledge I've gained is stuff that I've…
Yeah, $2,400 is price grounding people too much. http://3d.cgmasteracademy.com/programs/environment-arts-program/ Maybe, try some of these. You could probably just learn by watching gnomon tutorials and doing them. Maybe, join Polycount discord and DiNusty discord. Not sure if there is any magic bullet you are going to…
Hey Isaiah, yes this is for the Production team. Thanks to everyone for their comments, I really appreciate that feedback :D. I have knocked down the polycount of the teeth a little bit by removing the edge loop in between the front and back side but I'm wanting to keep them 3D and not just use planes to define the teeth.…
