Well....its Bachelors in Software engineering (since now is the best time for me to return to college and complete what my initial goal is) How it is related to game dev? The Programming part and also since my college is a Microsoft NUT they do have an elective of game development which is so not related to the game…

@iam717 and @poopipe , thanks for the replies. I don't know I was kind of having a bad week. I guess I'm having a hard time learning Substance Designer because, I've never really done much texturing in the past and I guess I'm just going through the growing pains, which is to be expected if I want to get any better. The…
@FrankPolygon Thank you very much for your answer. You are right in many places. I don't plan on quitting my current job, I like my job. I am just looking for something that could be 50% my hobby and 50% my side "mini business". Yes, I did the math, it would probably take a longer time to actually pay for that camera from…
The main goal is to have relatively cheap sort-free pseudo transparency. Anti-Aliasing would only "smooth" the geometric edges of triangles. When using alpha-tested effects for foliage/hair and whatnot all the "edges" are actually inside the triangle and therefore would alias (full pixel is either 100% in or out, not like…
Joost's advice is spot on, but just a few more things to add: The aperture you'll want to use will depend heavily on distance to object. If you're very close to a small object, F8 may not give wide enough DOF, so some areas will be out of focus, so you may need to go down to F16 or so. For large objects that are further…
Thanks, agree on the sky. This is not based on chernobyl however. But yeah i can see where you found some resemblance. :) Thanks I will post some more angles along with next update somewhere in future :) "I ain't got time to bleed" My portuguese friend has spoken. Yes, personal taste indeed :) Posting some stuff along with…
Yea looks like someone was scaling in object mode not sub-object? You really didn't need to reset xform, that's a bit like using a handgun to kill a fly. Just resetting the scale transform would have fixed it. Hierarchy tab > Reset > Transform/Scale The reset Xform utility resets the scale and transform just like above but…
say you sculpt a brick wall. It looks amazing. It took you 2 hours. A week later it is decided that the bricks need to be 50% larger. A week later, the size is good, but we want 75% of the bricks to be damaged. If you sculpt them each time, your soul is dying and somebody is losing money fast. If it's setup as a procedural…
thanks neox. i am kicking myself for not trying it sooner. but live and learn. i should mention as well, everything would probably look like 50% worse if I didn't get some help from Fabian. He's a much better artist than I am, so having a few models made from him has helped a lot in giving me direction and also focus in…
