Got my Canon eos 1000d today (Rebel xti for you yanks). It´s my first DSLR ever. I haven´t been able to do a shitload of stuff with it yet but i´ve been playing around and experimenting a little anyway.
Did you do anything special to get those aquarium pics? Last time I tried, I either got glare, not enough light, or shit focus.
For tanks, you prolly got the shit focus from the glare, giving the camera something to focus on. Do manual focus. Try doing it at night and white balance for the lights in the tank. I used three opaque white sheets of plastic (so it's solid) and put that in the tank. WB off that. You should also do shots straight on to the surface of the glass. To get shots above the water, try an acrylic/glass dish and push it 1~2 inches under the surface (depending on how deep the dish is), this will keep the water from causing crazy refractions and will look like you're under the water with the fishies.
I am sure you know how fragile a reef tank can be, so prep any surface you are going to put in the tank.
you people let this page drown till 5 !! damn you!
(great pics btw:P )
so i kinda lied to you all, i hardly touched my camera, got kinda boring to be honost.
instead of searching for subjects i let them come to me.
plus i still dont have a macro lens, so im not able to get into the things i really want.
There was a crazy sunset in Vancouver a few weeks ago, everything was orange and amazing! Here are some of my favorite pictures.. I should have cranked up the ISO on my camera I'm a little upset with how noisy these turned out. Other then that I think they're nice.
Hey guys, new around here but I saw the thread and I couldnt help myself.
Was at a bike meet in Calne UK a couple of weeks ago, Using a Canon EOS 450 (or Rebel XSi), with the 18-55mm kitlense. Saw a lovely Paintjob on a harley.
Seen some wonderful photography on this thread, cant wait to see more.
Hope I dont ruin the threads awesomeness, but are are some of my shots with the olympus om-1 (best film slr ever? in my opinion yes) and lomo smena 35- yes its a lomo but not lomography! plus I pciked it up for a tenner, I would never EVAR pay 200 plus for it.
firstly the smena 35 a very very fun camera if you find it for under 15squid buy it.
om-1 I got this free but would gladly pay for it, its, well amazing to shoot with.
the shit all over the pictures s from the crap on the scanner, im just too facking lazy. Buying the olympus e-520 or canon d450 soon hmm.
Rens: if I recall correctly (I think i do) it was taken along the "weg der schweiz" (way of switzerland). It was a very very very nice walking path along this side of the lake going from Brunnen to Flüelen (Altdorf). Google maps
Taken with a Canon Power Shot A630 (then Photoshopped). Can't wait to upgrade to something like a Canon EOS 7D or a Red Scarlet 3K HD :poly121:
Unless you need the flash control from the camera, or the super fast auto focus, save yourself some serious dough and get a 40D. Right now the only canon cameras to consider are the 40D, and the 5D I or II.
I'm starting to get interested getting into making hd videos for the web using a dslr. I'm a little familiar with what the 5D Mk II can do. Amazing shit!
I was using a Nikkor AF-S 55-200mm lens, goes for about $200, but I got it on Ebay for $100 brand new in box.
It's a pretty good lens. I also have a 55-300mm w/macro Sigma lens that my friend sold me for $100, but that's manual focus only. So I use that for shots where things aren't moving around. ^_^
Some pics from yesterday hiking around the lake by my place. I took somewhere around 500 texture photos yesterday of varying rock and lake bed surfaces. The lake is right now sitting at only 40% capacity due to drought and lack of rain, so a ton of stuff that would normally be underwater is exposed and the limestone stuff is all bleached out from the sun exposure this summer.

Already looking into a better lens for it.

Magical place near Szczecin. Poland Greetings
Dad's are awesome, they always are great camera material!
nice colors eksta
just would need to remove the trailer, but that would be cheating
Who says? If you think the photo would look better without it, get rid of it. There is no such thing as cheating in photography.
