I also find people whom write blogs that then post these in forums thinking we should give a shit what they think of others... offensive.
Oh well its really not come up... yet.
I recently made friends with a guy that moved here from Sweden a few years back. Before he came here he played online games with Americans that would occasionally mention free speech and such, and of course as we all know online gamers tend to use the words faggot nigger and cunt quite a bit.
But once he got here, no one EVER said those words due to cultural censorships and what not. Now I"m not advocating the use of hurtful language but I'm also certainly not barring it.
Back to the point. My friend was simply dumbfounded by the paradox of American pride in free speech, but then seeing how absolutely censored we are once he got here. Apparently the real fee speech is happening outside of our borders.

I laughed because I found it OFFENSIVE.
Usually its just a lot of joking and nerd talk and it would suck to have that nerd talk shot down by an uptight individual who can't see the value of a good joke.
Though some would call me spineless for not standing up against the word but I would say that it wasn't directed at me or anyone in particular and it really wasn't driven by hatred. So therefore it wasn't offensive.

although the amount of offense you take to something is proportional to the level of sad bastard you are, and inversely proportional to the amount of friends you have.
if you have no friends, everything that is said, is taken as an insult aimed at marginalizing and excluding you from a society. growing up with a spineless drunkard dad, and a tyrannous fat angry evil monster mom from hell also helps in turning you into a giant vag.
