MAYA - Mental Ray Issue.

Hey guys,

I'm a first year studying 3D at university, currently working on a 3D project, and have set up Mental Ray to render with Production Quality. The issue is that, when my renders with MR are done, the colours seem somewhat faded out, i have a screenie of a render with Maya Software, then one with MR, i've tried messing about with final gather, but the colours still seem faded.

Just wondering if i'm making a rookie mistake, or doing something obviously wrong, ideas and help would be greatly appreciated.

Well... with reflections, final gather and bounces enabled the environment (big grey room) will be reflected in the object with the reflective shader. Could it be that these reflects are washing out your color?

Are you using the sun sky system in Mental ray?
If you are, you need to apply a gamma correction node to your color textures, and set the value to 0454.
Another option is to lower the gamma value on the camera lens.

Please do the render in the same viewing angle and with the same parameters to be able to compare something... :|

You also don't say what are your render settings in the two cases.
