Some music

So this February, I decided to join FAWM, or "February Album-Writing Month". The aim was to write 14 tracks in 28 days.
Most of the stuff on that site is singer/songwriters, and there's actually a lot of cool music on there, especially considering how fast it was done.
I am by no means a singer, and terrible at writing lyrics, but I can play guitar/bass/drums (although I don't have a bass or a drum kit here so I had to sample/sequence all of mine). As a result all my tracks are instrumentals.
Most of them were written and recorded in an evening, sometimes two nights for the longer (often better) ones. The fastest was done in maybe two hours.
I only managed to finish 7 tracks. I had originally teamed up with a friend who lives in Finland now, but he has been too busy throughout February to do much other than help with feedback on my tracks and fix/improve/edit some of the mixes.

There's a few different styles of music there, I'd hope it's at least a little diverse and interesting, something for everyone.

i liked all the tracks, the only one i didn't listen all the way through, was Mud. and i think Survivors of a sinking ship could without a doubt be a killer intro to a metal cd :P
picking up a new amp today, so if i can dig out my mic/video camera i'll get some of my stuff up soon for sure

I havn't used the computer for any Recording myself.. any tips on the gear and software u used?
JasonLavoie: I've studied theory a little bit... I have a basic concept of modal scales and that's about it. I tend to just play whatever sounds good to me based on my knowledge of basic scales. I don't think I ever really sit down and think "well, these chords are such-and-such, so I should play in E aeolian mode", although maybe I should, it might sound better!
claydough: I got a POD UX1 for christmas, it's just a little USB device that comes with a cut-down version of Line6's modelling amp software, so you get a bunch of nice effects on your desktop. It's also got some VST plugins so you can record clean and change effects during playback, which is pretty cool.
I use FL Studio Producer edition for nearly all of my recording and mixing, and drum/bass/orchestral sampling. I bought a bunch of pretty nice sample packs along with the software, I mess around with orchestral-based stuff now and then but haven't managed to compose anything worth sharing yet
