Shrink wrapping in one axis only

I need your help guys! This is urgent!

I have a grid mesh I need to wrap on top of another mesh, but the verts must only move in one axis (down, Y)

So basically in the top view I don't want the mesh to change, just move the verts down to the surface below.....

The transfer attribute command in Maya mvoes my vertecies along the normal of my target mesh and the same goes for this script I tried (fitMorph)

Any ideas, scripts or programs? Can Max do this maybe?

Max can do this. If you use Conform under Compound objects you can project your grid based on your current view.

Hey

I'm stuck again. I used conform and it worked fine, but this one object doesn't. It just moves the whole object down to the center of my "wrap-to" object.....

any ideas?

Never mind, I found out how to do it in maya. There was an attribute that didn't show in the optionbox but could be changed in the attribute editor after I applied the "transfer attribute" command.
