Why no challenges?

This forum seems to have died. Why have there been no new challenges? I know DW is coming, but it has been weeks.

Codeman, I just checked your forum stats and the only contest you seem to have entered was the Unearthly Challenge. Since your registration date there have been several contests, all of which you haven't entered. So I don't quite understand why you're bothered by the lack of contests being run presently.
With the Dominance War coming up and a few pre-Dominance War comps being run, these should be enough for the time being. I'm sure we'll kick off a bunch after the Dominance War.

we were supposed to have a couple more mini challenges by now.

I remember the "time to die" challenge not getting an extension because more were on the way. I'm guessing works getting in the way.

Nah, Jesse & Hawken were asked by me to not do another contest until the Dominance War is over. With the Dominance War & the new site being two major things Q1 2009 we'd like to have a bit of a calm before the storm.

Once the dust settles, the challenge & contests will continue.

If you want art challenges GameArtisans is definitely the place to go. The site is kinda based around them in a way. I'm pretty sure 3dtotal runs a good number of challenges too.

Died? This place is possibly more active than GA.

There are lots of challenges over at GA on a regular basis, and one on over at 3D Total at the moment which you have time to enter (if you want to do some vehicle art or character art).

Can't wait for my first pc comp though...but I can definitely wait till after DWIV.

Ok. Yeah Jesse came over to GA before XMAS and said there would be lots of challenges this year on Polycount so I came back to the forum. I think maybe Jesse is still snowed in

So is Domwar just a big drawn out character design thing or will there be enviros too? I think Game Artisans should change its name to CharacterArtists.org since they seldom spotlight enviro work and seem to NEVER have anything but character challenges. But that is another thread!!!! :P

my one complaint, if the new thing is no challenges in the time leading up to Dom and Unearthly and no challenges for a little bit afterwords cuz everyone's exhausted does that mean we'll get 1 or 2 mini challenges a year?
