  Perhaps it has silently gone the way of Gmax. PLE was never really useful. I saw it as only an introduction to Maya's interface.

  Really the free 30 day demo's cover the usefulness of PLE & GMax pretty well without out the annoying limitations... Also its not like they're entirely clueless about the software being hacked by would-be users and people learning.

  yeah I think it's a quiet "we'll let you do the back of the truck thing if we know you'll buy it eventually anyways to do real work"

  yeah I noticed it was gone too, when a friend asked me if there was a maya demo to use to learn. Autodesk killed the ple, sad day
