quick mesh extraction question....

zbrush 3...is there any way to retain subdivision levels after you extract a masked area of geometry into a subtool? all the vids and tuts if checked out just extract from highest subD level....they never mention whether or not you can toggle back down to the lowest subD on the new geo.

No, you can't, since it generates new geometry based off your current sub-d level. I guess you might be able to use "Reconstruct Subdiv" on the sub-tool, if the Extract operation brought out a perfectly quadrangulated mesh which can be logically reduced.

thanks mop....that's what i figured. i've usually just built extra peices in max....figured i'd give extract a try.
