A lead artist/mate of mine said that to me once and I liked it.
Doesn't go down too well when said to producers in project meetings though.

haha, yeah, and my teacher overheard me saying that while working on something, and he just walks up to me and said "Ah, I see you're in your 'fuck it' mode." Which I now use when I or my peers are too tired to do any more work that day, or when you know no one's gonna notice a certain thing.
oddly enough, I also tend to say

Granted this only really comes into play with realistic/hyper realistic stuff, which is what my one friend and I do at school usually.

One time I drew a sweet robot in High School. Rodney, a dear friend of mine, would ask, "Hey, what's this thing for? What's it do?", trying to make sense of some cluster of gadgets I had drawn in on the arm. People normally would either play along like a good viewer or, not care enough to even wonder about such things and just focus on the skulls, tits, and blood in the picture.
"It's nothing. It's just to make it look cooler," I said.
He gave an unsatisfied, "Oh. Well it looks cool..."
It had inspired me to always try my best to Rodify a concept, or make it meaningful and more believable; at least to a Rodney, who can be very keen.

Cory, that's my way of thinking for everything i make. I hate it when people don't even try to add some bit of logic for the things they make. You always end up with something better when you give some part of it logic.

I also respond to the question "Are you finished" with "For the most part, I still have some tweaking to do" because I hate saying I'm done with something only to go back into it shortly after declaring it finished.
