Car mapping question

Can anyone tell me whats the best way a unwrap a car? What texture sizes do i use?

How will the car be seen? From which angles? Will it be normal mapped? Which game engine are you using? Can it use more than one UV set?

You've asked a pretty broad question, and people won't be able to help you out unless you specify things a little more.

Give it a spherical projection and use a 128x128 anything else is incorrect

It will be normal mapped, i created it on 3dmax, it will be seen from all angles, and it also has space inside too.

Cars often use mirrored UVs, with decals (floating transparent quads) to handle non-mirrored logos. Tangent-space normalmap would be the way to go, unless you have a shader that supports mirrored object-space maps.

I'm gonna go way out on a limb here and say this is for a portfolio piece.

Texture size would reasonably be a set of 1024x1024s (diffuse, normal, spec, etc.).
