artoolkit experimentation?

has anyone here tried the augmented reality stuff called artoolkit? I think my machine would explode trying to render something onto the anchor, but anyone here play with it at all?
I wonder if you can program behaviors to it like gravity... make the model slide or react to the platform not being level... there's one video from a guy who had the character chasing after a pen. Pretty neat stuff that makes me wish I knew how to program :P
