Breast Help!

Hey guys, I'm trying to use geospheres to model the breasts on my female character. This method was recomended to me in another thread so I'm trying it out. I have no idea how I should connect the sphere to my chest. By any chance is there a tutorial anywhere showing it, or could I reach one of you on AIM or MSN to ask some questions on how to do it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

heh, I noticed his sig and was thinking about asking you EarthQuake. My geosphere has way to many edges and the wire isn't nearly that smooth, even when it's toned down to 1 it seems that I have way to many polys in the boobs. Any other advice?

Depending on your target polycount i really wouldnt use geospheres, they were great for sub-1000 poly models but really when you get up to more standard poly counts there really isnt as much of a need to use them, and they are generally harder to model into a natural state. If you just want big ball-shaped tits they can look good tho.

lol, didn't realize how awkwardly I worded that...

Also, anyone have any suggestions on how to make my renders look cleaner and with better lighting?

What software are you using? A 3-point light setup is a big help.

The boobs are looking fairly realistic, but not idealistic. Depends on what you're going for. They could use more fullness below the nips, and the nips could be a bit higher. Right now she looks like she's in her thirties, rather than her teens/twenties like most game babes.

3ds Max 8, but I'm a newb so I have no idea how to even play with lighting. I'll mess around with below the nips and see how it comes out.

EDIT: Eric just noticed you were from boston, do you go to the Boston Post Mortem?

Update with more tweaks, and a clearer wireframe so you guys can tell me if it looks alright mesh flow wise.

This thread really belongs in P&P.

I'd say first off there's too much detail in the breasts compared to the rest of the body.

Never go straight across with your loops, try to make every loop follow the curvature of the muscles underneath. Shades better and deforms better.

For example the loops below the breasts... make those follow the flow of the ribcage. See EarthQuake's avatar again, he nailed it there. EQ, where's your site again? (he has the full character there)

oops, just saw your edit. Been to a couple, but I almost never go. Got three kids at home, rather spend the time with family these days than at a bar. But the PostMortem's a great networking resource, and cool hangout.

Main problem i see with what you've got is it needs to be smoothed out, and they look squished vertically.
heres that model, ill try and upload a copy of it too sometime so you can check it in 3d. I know i have a .rar SOMEWHERE but i dont have access to the PQ ftp here at work, will have to check when i get home in a few hours.
