Ive always been prone to insomnia. Theres just too much to do and think about and not enough hours in the day.

Holding your arm above your head as long as you can with eyes closed while in bed. Fight the falling arm feeling.. keep it up there. Let it wobble on purpose every now and then. Yeah, I imagine not being able to sleep for 7 to 36 months would inevitably cause dementia... even going for 36-48 hours without sleep is enough to make me feel as if I'm starting to lose my mind. What a horrible way to go.

Actually, when you pass out from drinking too much your body never enters REM so the sleep you get is not restful, which is why you often feel tired when hung-over (at least I do). I realize that you were joking but this is something that I was unaware of and came as a surprise to me when I heard it for the first time a few years ago.
i have to use unisom nightly if i even want to manage a night of horrible tossy turny sleep
