first person camera in max 7

Hey, do you know that in max 7 if you hit the up arrow key, it will take you to a camera that works just like a first person shooter???? If you do, do you know if there is any way to move around and record it? and render it out? Please let there be a way...

My five-minute hackjob solution:
Create a camera.
Select it and press Auto Keys.
Move the camera forward using Walk Through while keeping the . button pressed (. = create keys)
Or just hit . like a madman.

But there has to be a better way

Be sure to set your camera's FOV to somewhere around 90 to 120 (test to see whats' most like in game). I've also find it's handy to animate your camera on a track that goes through your level. Sit and watch it for a while. :P

OMG that rules. I wish they had this feature when I had to build levels in Max 5 last year.

You can use the [ and ] keys to adjust your movement speed.

I love this thing, and make sure you try out the new viewport setting in the left hand corner, other -> flat. It turns off the lighting so that you can see the model with out any lighting info while keeping it for the renders. Those two things make life so much simpler.

Oh and yeah you can turn the walk threw into a camera, but i cant remember what it was that you had to do but i know its easy as hell.

Thegodzero, That's what I need to know! we have a milestone coming up, and It would be cool to show the publishers a walkthrough like that.

It's also hidden under the Pan viewport control flyout.
