Problem with the MrBox/Roger tutorial for UT

I just finished the MrBox/Roger tutorial for UT, the modelling from max 1, and i did everything right, perfect infact, but the walking sequence or dodging sequences dont work, the model just stays in the one position and moves around, someone please tell me why, and how to fix this problem >.<, i even got the tutorial files and did it, but it still stays still...

Using boned (exporting to psk/psa files) or vertex animation?

aaaah lol im noob at this, i just followed the tutorial like he said and used 3ds2unr... he said it would use the tmale2 animations but it didnt, didnt even move, legs stayed still... >.< i really need to get more experience, can u help me ?... i only just bought 3dsmax 6 a couple of days ago so i could make UnrealTournament models...

3ds2unr is a tool made way back for the original Unreal. I remember it being a right hassle when I was putting models into UT.

Try Psychic_313's Advance Model System instead. This uses skeletal animation, which means you just have to ink your model to a skeleton, and the tutorial is much more up to date.

Thanks man ill try it, I'm really new to this so thanks agen :P, maybe ill be able to get this to work after all, i was just gonna give up and do something else

Are you attaching to the skeleton? Rigging the model with Biped?

um... no... i wanted to use Epics default animations on my model, like everyone else does with their models... have you ever done what im trying to do before ?, here is the model im trying to use (i didn't make this 1 this was for testing purposes only) Colderflame

You still need to link your model to the default epic skeleton in Max, otherwise, the game will move the skeleton about while your model just sits there for the ride.

You need to get this max file from epic, and link your model to the default male skeleton contained within

i like watching the video tutorial because they are easier to learn from, ill try to do it without the video tutorial and with maybe a written one that i will try to understand, you didnt misspell the link did you

Thank-You so much for all your help man :P i didnt follow any set tutorial that i was searching for instead i tried something different and it works :P:P, what i did was, downloaded milkshape3d, saved my char as .3ds, imported that into milkshape, loaded a default male skeleton, assigned the vertecies needed to the correct joints, exported to UT engine (milkshape writes all scripts needed) added 2 simple lines to my ut.ini file, EditPackages=SkeletalChars and EditPackages=Cold, ran UCC MAKE from command prompt and Wolah. :P

, now all i haave to do is skin my model, for this i will use UTSM :P thanks agen man :P
