like one piece is 4x4k  next one 1kx4k  etc painted across  as a single material?  I think definitely not SPainter? Right?   Maybe Mari now?  they seem dropped prices . Deos anyone  tried it lately?  Preferably having some roll /seam/ribbon style of brushes  with vector spline editable stroke ?

You can squash those cases down to fit in a single square/udim and make sure that udims texture set in painter is set appropriate to the non-square texture.

Make sure it's by a factor of whatever texture height/width ratio. 1024x4096 (uvs spanning 4 udims across) gets squashed horizontally down to 25% (now fits into one udim) for example.

Thanks  Epitaph.    I sort of tried to do it that way.  Problem is  it gets too complicated to crop  parts out  then or combine them together.   I wondered if some soft could do it natively .  By some export script maybe.   Too bad  AI scripting  doesn't work for SPainter.
Wonder if someone still use Mari  ? Does it have something  new and cool  or basically just same advantage  of super hi res  textures and lots of udim parts?

you can't mess with that bit of painter via script anyway

I'm a little confused about why this is useful in all honesty - if you're using UDIMS why not just split the surface up to fit into squares?
