Hey guys, looooooong time polycounter. Just curious if any of the old dogs from the Milkshape 3D forums are still kicking around? I started 3D modeling back in 1997 on Milkshape 3D and Gimp. Just curious whose still at it is all. The floor is open!
Never thought I would hear about Milkshape 3D again... 🙃 It was the first 3D modeling software I used. Had to ask my parents to buy me the $20 license because I was still in grade nine lol. I eventually moved on to 3D Studio MAX 3.1, but Milkshape was a great app to start modeling because it was basically a simplified version of MAX. it also had the ability to export to all the popular game model formats at the time.
Never messed around with Gimp. I went straight to Adobe.
Jaw dropped when reading the thread title, I was 1-2 years later on, p.c. downloaded it the other day to check the format export options & to remember the old times. (i am not even that old really just came in "young".)
I never got into Milkhhape, my first 3D app was 3D Studio v1 on DOS, because at my first job in 1991 they sat me down in front of it and asked me to "make something" with it lol.
I went looking for the forums recently, as now UT2004 got re-released , I couldn't find any other way to do some playermodels than Milkshape. I think I bought it twice over the years as I kept forgetting the code / losing the email I regged on. Must've been 2002/2004 I last used it. Would be cool to see the project picked up again! I made some custom models for UT99 with it.
