This project showcases a full CGI recreation of the Pagani Utopia steering wheel, modeled, textured and rendered entirely from scratch. The goal was to develop a one to one digital replica of a real world asset, a scenario that often happens in production when the client cannot provide reference models or ready to use assets. ⠀ The project was developed during my mentorship program with VFX supervisor Cristian Spagnuolo, where the focus was to approach the entire workflow with real production standards and problem solving methods that mirror an actual studio pipeline. ⠀ Every element was built starting from high resolution photographic references, with particular attention to the craftsmanship and material complexity that define Pagani’s design language. From the carbon fiber weave to the brushed metal details and the leather micro imperfections, the entire workflow aimed at achieving visual and structural accuracy. ⠀ The asset was finalized for real time and cinematic use, ensuring clean topology, consistent texel density and physically based materials suitable for high end automotive visualization. ⠀ This project was not only a technical exercise but also a way to simulate a real client request pipeline, where artistic precision and efficient communication become essential to deliver an asset ready for any production environment. _________________________________ Modeling & UVs: Maya (120 hrs) Texturing: Substance 3D Painter (60 hrs) Lighting & Rendering: Arnold (60 hrs) Post production: Nuke _________________________________ Total time: 240 hrs _________________________________ For more: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/a0xqyL
