About a contest, we welcome anyone wanting to organize it, and we can help by hosting files, making a dedicated forum section, etc. But ultimately someone needs to step up and organize, promote, and manage.
There was a suggestion earlier this year to honor Kevin Johnstone by doing a skinning comp using his SDKs. But no one was able to pick it up and drive it.
Yeah i saw it (good idea the wirexx comments thing), the only reason i wouldn't manage and all that other stuff which i think i might be able to do but i do no do "socials", discord and the like cause I'd have to trust, I'd just write up doc's/pdf's/jpg's and let people manage themselves.
Do not feel like people like being bossed around (i do not like it much myself but i get it when $ and careers are on the "line") n glad we did the unofficial wow challenge that turned out alright, so if it was like that, i might be in, but my vision is so much bigger for what i had in mind. As i would want it to be memorable and at least impactful enough to leave a lasting mark worth of the black & green.
Already thought of a few ways after posting where things can be organized enough, to where we can do this at mostly at the same time, i.e. all aspects of dev being launch simultaneously on site though, not outside of it.
What i would need (if it where up to me) are volunteers, in managing positions for each dev category to start. Availability is the issue i think, those that want to be involved and what time-frame is the best for "everyone" or at least close enough where they can participate.
I'd say something like this would need to have a section on the forum just for discussions on this, as thread would seemingly get cluttered.
I'll think it over and might plan out what might be needed. (Not Ap,1,prank,btw)
If you want to do the skinning sdk thing then sure, a tribute for all the passed on artists idea wouldn't be bad, happy send offs type of thing sounds neat.
(oh and i like that the black color font actually works now, =0)
