I started this project as my second environment portfolio piece. I only worked on Sci-fi props and environments so far. That's why I wanted a piece on a historical environment with terrain, vegetation and such. I'm taking my time to make them as good as possible.

I started by sculpting and texturing wooden planks and putting them into modular building blocks to use for later

Replies
- decided on comp, sculpted terrain and added spline path to it
- finalized and rendered main trim textures
- I spent too much time to add procedural noise in the engine to vertex paint, but it didn't work as intended so i dropped it. Instead I will create dirty version in substance.
next:
- improving building thatch roof materials
- creating plain tileable textures for large sections of wood and mud with dirty variations
- creating terrain mat
