Hi
I'm currently having problems getting specific hairs to point in a particular direction. At the moment, these fly-away hairs are all facing to the left, but I want one to face to the right. I have a couple of guides set up from splines and one of them is facing to the right, but it's not making any difference. I've also tried using a mask and a region map, but, nada. :-\ The Clump, Noise and Coil modifiers have only helped a little, but they're still all facing to the left. Could someone give me some advice on how to get more control with individual hairs? Thanks.

Use multiple descriptions. For a head i end with around 10 descriptions to get the look right.
Oh, I have quite a few descriptions. :) I have somewhere around 20 at the moment for various parts of the hair. I have 3-4 for the sides of the hair, flyaways, eyelashes, eyebrows etc. This particular issue is just with one of the clumps/descriptions. Even masking off the other two hair strands, I can't seem to get a single one to twist around so it's the other way.
Or did you mean, for annoying individual strands like this, that they should be given their own description...?
Sadly with native xgen that's sorta annoying, interactive groom let's you groom individual hair tho. I'd love them to combine the two one day
Wishful thinking...
I guess I've found a workaround. Sort of. I suppose the only thing I can do is just play with the density slider and seed, until a hair generates that faces the right direction, and then mask off any I don't want.
I'll have to look into trying Yeti at some point and see what that's like.
you could also set it so each guide only spawns one hair, then you have full control of each individual hair, but that can become quite the struggle :D
