I am looking for opinions of experienced users:
Would you say you can tell for example
etc.
Is specific software very recognizable to you or would you say that after having reached a certain level of skill any result could be achieved any which way? (maybe excepting houdini simulations)

(you're welcome)
i'm afraid i don't understand the reference
That depends a lot on the used tools and how its used. How much is done by hand on top.
If someone uses a smart marterial in substance without any handpainting or modification a texture artist will know its done with substance.
If you do a lot handpainting and mixing with other materials you cant know which software is used.
thank you for your answer!
I can almost always tell apart sculpts from Blender and Zbrush (when I see a thumbnail on youtube and then check the actual video). And usually 3D games in Unreal or Unity.
With PBR workflows, usually not. Unless some dumbass decides to use viewport renderer in c4d or 3DS max.
Unless it's unity. Unity has this very distinct deep fried smooth look to it. Something about the color management & lighting system in unity is just outright incorrect. No, it's not just set up wrong, or the wrong use of plug ins, I've never seen a PBR unity frame that wasn't instantly identifiable as unity.
So what if a person can say what tool you used?
