Hello Polycount!
Currently I'm working on a new portfolio piece, with the artwork from Roanna Peroz poison Ivy and inspired by the youtube channel J-Hill. My goal of this portfolio piece is to make a cgi level character and apply all the previous learned experience into this character and further improve upon my skill set. I chose this piece because I wanted to further expand and learn new skills upon likeness sculpting, CLO, Xgen, Arnold rendering/material shaders, lighting and composition.
So follow along this journey and hopefully it's gonna be an awesome project!
The start of the project is just making a moodboard, setting expectations and setting up a plan for myself.

Progress thus far, focuses on the face of Allyson I didn't manage to find a side view of her face so I used angelina jolie side face instead of tomb raider. What do you guys think really looking for feedback atm.
Overall I do like the way it look but something else feels off surrounding her nose and her cheekbone? I also got a feeling that the model looks to mature?
Progress of today feel free to give feedback
Progress of the past days focused on the body proportions and the clothing in clo made some placeholders texture for now just to see how it holds up. Update for next time is making the gloves and focus on the face, especially the nose area. If you guys got any feedback let me know as I'm still not quite happy with the face especially around the nose.
A bit of an update. Worked on the gloves made that into a pattern as exercise, did some secondary sculpting on the face and changed some anatomy placement, also worked on the cloth in general with folding and worked on the ivy plant.
Update on the project done some pore detail and skin detailing and set her ready for pose render
Update on the project made the brows, hair and the whimpers for the character. This is also my firs time using Arnold render setup. In the next update I'm going to continue working on the hair, let me know how I can further improve that as is it also my first tiem working on Xgen on this level.
Update on the hair had to redo the hair as I accidentally removed history so learned that the hard way. I like the overall shape, still need to work on the cloth clipping and some flyby strands.
Update on Ivy
-Adjusted the hair
-Made the skin shader and the makeup
-Uv the clothing and adjusted the silhouette a bit
To do's
-Hair is still clipping that needs fixing
-Eye's need a bit of love
-Clothing texturing
Small update on the project she got eyes now and made the hair color
Hey looking great so far. Inspiring progress for sure. Are you looking to be as close to possibly as the initial concept or use it as a jumping off point?
Hey Thx Raven!
How it is atm I'm not gonna change the clothing and posing and leave it as it is. I still want to change her facial expression so it is more fitting based on the concept but I will do that at the end so I have 2 version of her facial expresion for the render. I will try and rap up this project at the end of this month so I can make a new piece and used the learned experence I build here on to the new project.
Sounds good! I'm looking forward to seeing the final versions and your next project!
Yes thx! Will do
Update on the project.
The project is entering it's final stages for rendering if you guys got any good advice on how to further enhance the look of this character let me know.
I've got some enhancement ideas based on comparison from source image:
darken hair (hitting roots especially i think would add depth), lighten color on lapel/shirt/cuffs to make them pop more, brighten leaves on shirt too with maybe some more on the edges to give more definition. Would like to see the gold on the pants shine more, they look a little flat and the pants themselves are maybe too smooth/reflective?
Hey thx for the feedback I know what is wrong whit this pic it seems I forgot to update the exposure level on the picture export making everything seems to dark. I'm making a new render atm today so expect new pictures soon.
Update on the Process gave it a higher exposure and made the red pop up more into the scene
Update on the project made the boots and the ivy plant for the fullbody render
Consider this project done. I learned allot on how to render in Arnold, maya matherial expressions and Xgen.
