Artillery Cannon Model from photo reference

Hi there,
I have been revisiting modeling again trying to improve my workflow for the texture process. I am currently working on an artillery cannon model that I had come across in a park in the greater Pittsburgh area a few years back. I had said I was going to model this years ago now and are finally getting around to it.

Good start and those are certainly nice looking pics you'd snapped as refs.

Also out of curiosity if I may ask, just interested in your envisioned workflow for this model?

Workflows going to be model, unwrap and bake from 3ds max. then I want to get it into substance painter and work with that program for texturing. I'm out of practice for sure and I'm hoping that's still a viable workflow. Once I get the maps from substance I'll try and get some cool renders out of UE4.

I've been working on this since my last post here, I have been focused on the tail end that supports the cannon now. Here is a quick daylight render with Arnold out of 3DS Max (ignore the stock concrete texture for now, I'll work on fixing those things later)

i have to work on rendering from Arnold. I am new to Max 2022 and I am not having much success with rendering on my own.

any tutorial recommendations?
