Daniel Thiger 3D view settings

Hi guys, so I'm watching all Daniel Thiger's Fundalmentals series, and while trying to recreate his cobblestone material, there's one thing that's really bothering me, I'm following exactly what he's doing, with the same settings, but his material on the 3D view window already looks realistic whilst mine looks like it came from a ps1 game xD (right image). We're both using the graph res at 2048 x 2048 with tesselation on, and the hi-res plane as a mesh. I tried to crank up the AO and even the graph res, but still looks bad close to his. Is there anything that he does on the 3D view settings to make it look better, or Daniel is simply a god and his results are unachievable?
