Transfer painted layers / paint effects between projects.

I would like to transfer painted masks between two projects with the same UV. I know I can reimport a mesh. But I want to export painted layers (especially for masks) to another substance project.

You can save your stack content as a smart material, and then drag and drop it in the stack of your other project.

First thing I tried, Then the paint layers and Paint effects do not work anymore.

Anyone know if it is possible to combine two substance projects and retain painted layers / effects?

If the meshes have the same UV, scale and position, it should work. Make sure they match 100%.

And to get the mesh the same: Import mesh in old project, then create smart material, finally use the smartmaterial in new project?
