Problem with zsphere retopology in zbrush 2018

Hey people,

Has anyone encountered this or know of this feature? (If it is a feature and not a bug).

This didn't happen in previous iterations of zbrush and I can't find anything on it anywhere in zbrush forums etc,

Basically when drawing out polys using zsphere retopo, I'm getting a red band connected to a random poly with a salmon coloured circle, I'm unable to deselect and it is causing me immense stress and interrupting my workflow! See image

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ive had that red band and dont remember what I did to fix it. If you cant select points maybe you masked one by accident. Cntrl drag a rectangle in the background to check all masking has been cleared. Maybe someone will come along with a fix but in the meantime start the retopo again with a fresh setup to see if you run into the same problem.

Yeah this isn't the issue, I'd already read that before posting here - thanks anyway though I can see how it would look similar to someone not familiar with zbrush.

It's not a masking issue, I powered through it happening in the end but will have to see if it crops up next time I do retopology. Maybe I should just learn maya for that step! Thanks again

I use Blender for retopo and only use the topo function in zBrush for very basic forms. When I had this problem I think I just hit the undo till it went away and continued from there. Not really a fix but it seemed to work.

You are stucked in a phase. you can delete a retopo line to go back and continue !
hold down alt and click on a line to delete. now you are out of this situation. or you can delete this red or green circle with alt click too.
