I am struggling to bake an Ambient occlusion map with my floaters. I have Two Faced box unticked which removes the harsh AO around the floaters but it still gives me a soft shadow around them. I have tried looking for videos about baking ambient occlusion in marmoset with floaters but haven't found anything only find Basic baking tutorials

here is a shot of what the occlusion looks like

This is the expected result, we don't have an additional tools for dealing with floater AO issues at this time.

The typical work around would be to paint over these areas in Photoshop. You can also model the detail directly into the geometry if accuracy is important for a particular area.

I've been struggling with this issue all day long and just could not find a solution no matter what I tried. Now I know why!  :D

The geo I'm using has to be floaters so I guess a manual paint over in PS is the only way, unfortunately.

Is there any thoughts or plans on a workaround for this in future?

2025... Also looking for an answer for this one. Is there a better way to do it straight away in Marmoset when baking?

Is there some reason people aren't using anything that can take the normal map and generate an AO from that? or am i missing something? if you need a free AO baker XNormal is still useful for this even in the tools section or options section (i forget) the heightmap section if it doesn't have an AO option the Height one can generate one with fiddling with settings enough for a "quick-ish" solution, also Knald if that is still a thing, zbrush ect? import the normal as a plain and map it to zbrush plane and bake an AO using the normal information.

I can be wrong its early and i felt like tossing a lot of ideas that might be helpful out there, feel free to correct..
I would've said, substance painter/designer but with the recent adobe "fiasco" i didn't really want to mention them.
