Aloy - Horizon Zero Dawn - Hand Painted

Hi folks!

I love 3d models that use hand painted textures. So I decided to focus in this style and study a lot.
Till now I didn't had a human model in my portfolio, so I started with a bust of a character that is so strong and determined like I wish I could be someday in my life.
I put a lot of efford in this piece, so I hope you like it

wow that's cool and beautiful texture,
im curious about your workflow. did u use high poly to low poly bake for ambient or just handpainted all along?

Tks!! I did just a blockout on Zbrush to used it for retopology, but I didnt use this model to bake the textures

I painted the textures on a model without any map. Was a challege to myself huahuauha

The results here are unquestionably good, it's a great finished piece. But i have to wonder what the point of the blockout is... It seems like a wasted step if you're not using it for anything but proportions.

Thanks for the info! Totally forgot about 3DCoat, would've guessed Substance Painter because it's so widely used. Do you think 3DCoat is better suited for hand painting or is it just a personal preference?

Without the blockout would be difficult to do the retopology in Maya. On Zbrush is much easy to find the shapes
