I had a similar idea of something different with the "projectile" and a burrowing ability so will be watching this one.
A fire attack, I plan to add complementary color at first, but then I decided to make it look more like the color of the flame, give up the complementary colors.
Suggestions are welcome, such as the way of attack, the rhythm, and the color.

The shark is obviously good as hell, still i think something is off with the animation of the shark, looks like he just rotate on the x Axis when he bites, you should try to animate him so he crunch himself, otherwise your arts are just insane nice job dude
I think you could add some subtle blue to the flame, to give it some dimension since fire actually has some blue if it's really hot. Maybe it's get blue-r as it continuously fire?
I also agree with floorpeas. I think the 'out' beam in the last part of the fire animation is too fast and kind of hard to register what happened. Maybe you could shorten the trail or slow it down a bit?
