Posting a WIP of my current project that I started over the Christmas break. I started up a large (for me) project over the past couple months with the downtime I had from a major surgery. I've plugged along on it for a while and wanted to get some opinions and feedback on it as I finalize the pre-stages and bring in the last elements of my workflow, IE: materials, lighting/posing/composition:

As the rough stands right now I have Zushaxx (the beholder), his Fish Syldar in his special bowl, a couple of books for the bowl to sit atop, and a final book that the beholder is currently reading as he floats before his pet, deep within his chamber.

I'm really enjoying this projects so far and I'm somewhat pleased with the idea i have for the composition - fish large in the foreground with the beholder reading in the background. I'd like to rearrange some of the beholder's tentacles to better frame his face and lead the viewer around the focal points. I'm also going to get that book farther away from his face. Maybe the frame should be more of a verticle composition, with the beholder hovering high over?

Work starts up again tomorrow, but I'm looking forward to plugging away at this project as I get the time. Woooo! C&Cs welcome

oh, and Happy New Year!

Looks Awesome! my only suggestion that comes to mind is maybe adjust positioning or scale in the composition.  Feels like my eyes are doing a tug of war between Zushaxx and Syldar.  I would assume Zushaxx's presence should overpower the scene a little more.
