What to create

Reimagine a splash/illustration of your favorite champion/skin

Create a high resolution character illustration of any champion or set of champions from the League of Legends world

Things to keep in mind

The champion(s) should be the main focus of the illustration
Action and Static poses are both welcome, but characters should feel dynamic either way
This image should tell a story about something unique or powerful about the champion(s)
You can recreate the base champion, an existing skin or create your own design.
Focus on the fantasy of the champion(s).
- Understanding the gameplay of a champ is great and using their in-game abilities as inspiration is totally fine, but think about the fantasy of what those abilities represent

What to deliver

High resolution (min 3000px wide) JPEG at full quality compression
Any references or sketches that illustrate process

How Riot will judge

The team at Riot is looking for strong composition and storytelling paired with stylized characters anatomy and proportions. Dynamic colored lightning composition is also key to the League of Legends illustration style.

Hi so a quick question I see everyone updating constantly their submissions but when I try to update mine it disappeared from the face of the earth and I tried putting other submissions but it never works for me. It always says it's under review but ...hmmm....i don't think it is? It is taking forever ... while other people have already updated twice I'm still here waiting ... what's happening? I'm scared.

Yeah I can't even show my progress because I went to edit, and it's under approval for over 24 hours already, but I'm not really sure why... Are we not supposed to edit our threads?

Hi. Does the orientation of the illustration have to be landscape or is it possible to have it's orientation portrait with the min 3000px width?

Does it have to be horizontal or is a vertical format ok, too ?
I assume it would be 3000px high instead of wide.

My maternal family is Italian and the paternal is Brazilian... and currently I am a Brazilian resident and I will not be able to participate... very bad. But the Brazilian Mike Azevedo and all the Brazilian players I know who play lol, will be representing us. I didn't even pay attention to the awards, but for recognition of an agency I admire, or even for the love of design, I studied, read about the character I thought of doing the illustration and proof is that this first image of the post It is from another user who has paid more attention than me on the countries... I would participate even if it was free, but it's part of politics and life.

Hi! Is there allowed to use Zbrush for the base of illustration? Or should it be 2D painting only?

Oh no, I'm I'm brazilian too, I just found out about the contest and I was really excited to participate, even created an account... It's so sad to hear that. But I'm going to do a skin fanart anyway, I hope I can get into some other contest in the future... I really would love to share my work with League community .

Possible silly question. The rules say to submit a zip file via the "uploading tool". What is this uploading tool? Am I missing something? I have my thread of progress, just not sure how this works.

Just go through the submission thread. there you can find the process details. you have to download the submission form and fill it. then Zip it with your high-res artwork.. and upload through dropbox.. here is the link- https://www.dropbox.com/request/dK85VSh0i7jfFO3Xj5ao

My submission thread disappeared after i had updated it a few times, i’m quite new to this site but i can’t find what i did wrong? WIll my entry not be approved if it doesn’t get back before the end tomorrow?

Hi! So I submitted my entry last night when I was running on no sleep, woke up today and realized I submitted the wrong format. I did an illustration and it’s the wrong dpi and there’s also a .png in there. Is there anyway I can cancel that and resubmit?

EDIT: I resubmitted with the correct .dpi and file format. I'm really hoping that this is okay.
