Blender UV mapping with accurate scaling (after everything is mapped out)

Hi

I've recently mapped a window with groups.  I've joined all the groups together but now I'm left with a disorganized map, not only are they overlapping (which is fine because I know how to fix that), but my main problem is the sizes/uv scales aren't accurate. Is there a way I can get  each uv(s) more accurate to the actually mesh size?  I hope I'm making sense.:( I tried  UV Mapping > Lightmap Pack, but it literally took each face apart from each other. I to get the accurate size with out having to remap everything.

Edit: Oops! Forgot to say that I'm using Blender 3D.  :3
