The beast _ Innsmouth beast

Hello guys !
Here is my concept and first sculpt of my "Innsmouth beast".
Innsmouth is a village in lovercraft book and it's my main reference for my beast.

A old lightkeeper suffering from Innsmouth malediction , he became a humanoid fish and lose his mind. he trap lot of seaman with his light head and haunt the village all night.

I like it, cool monster design but doesn't really remind me of anything described in "The Shadow Over Innsmouth". Not very fishy. In fact I believe when it comes to things like hands and fingers they are described as being quite stumpy and underdeveloped, you've pretty much gone the total opposite direction here.

this is quite a cool design. His hands and legs are so thin that I think You should look at some anorexia references, define the bone structure beneath that skin a lot more. It would look even creepier and real.

thx to comment, I think to add some scales in shoulder and the back, but not more. I would like to keep the skin, and use textures to give fishy style

Contratulation! I like the dark atmosphere of the Szene. The Modell is also great, quite creepy.

Are you still doing some more tweaks, or do you calling it done?

For the contest it's done, but after time ( and with free time ^^) I would like to create composition with arnold renderer and rework textures like SSS for the beast skin, fog, light effect .

love the atmosphere you got going there. I think the water looked better in the previous renders though ,also the harsh water edge is kinda bothering me, maybe you could fade it out a bit more? or maybe make some sort of proper edge for it?

thx Lotet, I would like give more water dynamic but I have already max tris on my pedestral so for water.
I tried to give more waves but no success, the topology deformation is so sad when I up vertex...
I will look to retake that.

I retake my lighting and water normal, transparency and specular map. waves are more details yet
the render is more like my previous renderer, the contrast is more strenght .
