Rendering good blueprint out of your models ?

Hey there guys !

Do you know a way to get clear - good blue prints out of your models, without rendering a wireframe and painting the frames you need over it in photoshop I mean.

This is my example as an expected result. -- same strokes, ability to choose perspective etc.

I'm a Maya user so naturally I'm thinking Maya ways. I'd probably go with Maya Vector renderer and use Silhouette + Hard/Soft edges to define inner strokes. The exploded layout I would probably have to do myself manually I guess. Unless someone made a fancy script for this.

This would obviously depend on the renderer you are using. Many renderers now have good solutions for engineering/schematic output. As Kodde said, manually arranging the elements would give you the greatest control for the exploded view, or you could use the Xpose function in Zbrush to get a starting point.(But again, you havn't stated what software you're using)

Forgot to mention it, I am going to move the elements myself, I doubt any script can do it and yes I need the control

About the software, I work with both maya and 3ds max so I'll prolly try your Maya way, vector renderer or the Silhouette thing

I played around a bit with the Toon Outline as well. Works pretty good. Has more settings than the old Maya Vector renderer.
Also there's outline shaders for Mental Ray as well.
