Abertay University in the UK is handing out grants of up to £25,000 to Small or Medium Enterprises (SMEs) based in the UK who wish to prototype their own IP

"We support games projects and other forms of interactive digital content, such as e-learning, visualisation, interactive exhibits, online film / broadcast media, or middleware. The smaller and younger you are as a company the greater the benefit we can bring and the greater the likelihood of success with your application."

If you're in the UK and looking for some grant money to start up a project this might be the shot you're looking for.

Abertay are the best games college in the UK, they do so much, including Dare to be Digital! Fair play to them for this.

If you are looking to study games design,art or programming in the UK, Teesside University is the top university to do this. I am currently a Final Year Student there and it is definately the best in the UK. We are brought right up to date with top spec computers, Unreal Development Kit taught right from the start with team projects in the 2nd and final year as well as some of the leading developers visiting each year for Animex, an annual festival of games and animation
