So much has happened this week in and around our community and if you've been living under a rock or just twiddling your thumbs waiting for it to rain skittles, then this re-cap is for you!

The week kicked off with a bang with the long awaited launch of the new Polycount. Not only did our members get treated with a new front page and forum design, but we've teamed up with Valve to give you the Team Fortres 2 'Polycount Pack' Contest.
The new site and contest have generated so much interest around the community that we've had 700+ new members sign up since our launch. Which now brings us to over 20,000 registered professional and hobbyist game artists. HUGE!

We've also added two new sub-forums to our Technical Talk section with the focus set to UDK and CryEngine discussion.

If you missed the Ryan Clark interview, be sure to check it out! Get an insight to his genius and his process while developing CrazyBump, the tool we all can't live without. We even have a sneak peak into his new 3D iPhone Engine.

We feature some artwork from Polycount's own Vicent 'vahl' Joyau with his recent work on Bioshock 2 as well as adding new art to our showcase forum from Darkrusader with his stunning environment piece 'Tristram Tunnels' using UDK.

On the topic of UDK, get psyched by the upcoming UDK May beta update. The update will see new features such as Steam support, colour grading, updates to the heightfog and much more.

For all you modders out there, we explore the collaboration between mod team and professional development team with TripWire Interactive on their upcoming title Rising Storm.

And finally we have a look at some awesome art from other 3D Art Communities.

With the weekend at our doorstep, catch up on all our news articles and be sure to leave comments as we'd love to hear your thoughts on the topics we provide. This way we can tailor our articles to the interests of the community and present you with things you want to hear about.
