Hi there. I've come across this video several times already and the curve effect it is demonstrated is really cool. Unfortunately, I have neither managed to recreate it nor find relevant info that would help. Therefore, I would like to ask for an advice on how to achieve this effect.

I stored a MT, incrased the Curve Falloff all the way up for both axises, switched off Intense, turned on Snap and used DM_Standard Brush with an alpha 3 but nothing really happened on the surface.. Any suggestion how to do the same effect as the video promotes?

Not sure if this is possible anymore in Zbrush 4r7 or people do it that way anymore. I can only presume the reason is, this would now be achieved (and cleaner) by storing a morph map, then with surface/noise or drag out a repeating alpha on the surface and then using the morph brush to erase as shown. Obviously mask/invert the areas you want the repeating pattern to be on.
I'm not at my workstation at present, but will see if I can replicate on 4r7 once back.
Cheers
And should have been Morph Target doh!
You will need to change the Max Points in the Stroke Palette.
Take a look at the following video on the pixologic classrooms about 7 minutes in first.

'Curve Editable Polypaint'
It is for painting techniques but just need to switch Zadd on. Again, I cant say if this is working in Z4R7.
You will see he uses an alpha whilst painting and clicks on the actual line to put paint down. At the time he has DragDot on. I can only presume if you put Zadd on and turn it to Free Stroke instead of DragDot you may get the affect in your video. Obviously create Morph Target and erase after.
Let us know how ya get on mate. Will try out myself once at computer on Monday
Cheers
Hey, thanks for your thoughts! I did try to find the max points option in Curve's settings but it appears that Zbrush 4r7 does not support it anymore.
cheers for the response. Yeah noticed that when I tried it on Monday... apologies. Shame they took out something that worked better in previous versions.
I would say go with Internet Friends way if you want to do it the manual hands on approach. Personally I would use the Surface Noise for a 'cleaner' result. Oh the beauty of choices
