Hey all,

It's been a while since I posted any work here on the forums so here we go. :)

This is a realistic recreation of the Steel War Axe from Skyrim. I used the original in game weapon and several real life re-creations as concept and inspiration.

Lowpoly with/without wires from 3dsmax and highpoly from zbrush.

    Wow that axe looks really great! It might be cool if you could also post some pics in this thread. Not everyone is eager to click on links without pics first.

    This is really great. Honestly the only critique I have echos Tobbo in that I hope you'll post some more images directly in the thread so you get some more eyes on it. You've lit the scene very well through that marmoset viewer, though.

    Did you start with a high poly on this? It looks as if you could have potentially faked not making a high poly and still achieve these results somehow. I'm just curious to know if theres any black magic happening here :)

    Thanks guys! I'm glad you like it. :) I'm adding some pics to the main post like you suggested.

    Limewax: I did use a highpoly for most of the detail but there is some normal work done in photoshop and substance painter. I'll add a pic of the highpoly and lowpoly later on today.

    Looks great.

    Except the inner pattern of the blade(the grid thing) looks too modern.

    But who don't like antique replica car with a turbo on it.

    I feel the same way about the inner pattern but it's part of the original in game weapon so I wanted to stay pretty close to that.
