New project, HP 99% done. Time for low poly, textures, materials. Renders are really simple and i could spend some more time on them, but i would rather create awesome renders for finished project.
Ok i'm experimenting with diferent texture styles. I'm not happy with the resullt but i cannot tweak this forever Need to move forward, next tank will be much better hovewer.
Glad to hear that,
yep i wanted to add more metalness too but on the other way here are the layers this tank is made of
-dark rough steel (pretty matte)
-anti-corrosion paint, a little bit matte(http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3778/9277578526_f4594c0c79_c.jpg)
-base green color. the problem is that tanks in museum have really glossy paint, tanks that are going to be used in battle have more matte paint
-when you add dust, corrosion etc that are also rather rough the result is really matte :P
I dont know where that metalnees would come from
But i'll check other roughness levels for sure. Gotta make rust less regular too. Thanks

the barrell on this one shows it and the front panels, almost like a greasyness
and if you add your own artistic licence - eg dents and stratches and wear to it you could have metalness there
