I just wanted to ask your opinions on something. We recently did a blog writing competition on our website which was well received with over 500 people voting on a winner and gave a number of aspiring writers their first bit of exposure (full credit was given to the respective writers).
We are considering doing another creative competition but this time to showcase some of the amazing graphical talent we have within the gaming community and we are just looking for initial feedback on the idea.
Perhaps you could help with a few questions:
1) Would you be interested in seeing such a showcase of fan art or would you even get involved yourself/know others that would?
2) What would motivate you to get involved? (Have to be realistic here!)
3) How long would you need in order to participate (we have been thinking 8 weeks from start to deadline for entries)
4) How would you suggest we get the word out effectively/ would you know anyone who would like to get involved (Always looking for quality judges for example who could give the entrants some knowledge or tips)
5) Anything else you like to know more about.
Thanks for taking the time to answer these (note I havent added a link as this is a genuine fact finding mission and not a promotion)
Hello! Just hoping that by surrounding myself with super talented artists some of that might rub off on me. Oh, I might know a thing or two to as well.
Making my required "Hello" post here.
My name is Mark, working on a project, have years of experience with Rhino, but have just begun learning Maya LT, ZBrush, and Substance Painter/Designer, and have lots of questions.
Good evening all, making this first post as required by the moderation staff! It's wonderful to meet you all and I hope we'll all be able to work together in the time to come!

Hi guys,
I've been a polycount browser since 2008, never an artist. I'm a programmer/developer hoping to recruit from the best 3d board on the internet for personal projects! Hopefully trade my skills where possible.
Hi the names Davis, I'm a 3D modeler and animator for Game Design.I might need to use this site in case i don't have a full understanding 3D in Maya, Blender and maybe 3ds Max. But mostly Maya.
My name is Ben and I'm currently studying a Games Design course at Leeds Beckett University. I LOVE IT. It's brilliant, I know there are various routes into the industry, but I'm glad I took this one. Gives a broad overview around all areas (animation, programming, asset creation, etc..)
I am what you would call a "jack-of-all-trades"...However, I see myself as an animator, by far my favourite thing to do!
I am only just starting out though and realise I have a very long road ahead of me.
If anybody thinks I could be of any assistance with ANY project, I would love to help! Just drop me an email/msg anytime
My name is Neil and I'm a Game Developer. My main skill is programming, but I've always loved 3D art and I've spent a bunch of my free time learning and practicing modeling, animation, and texturing. I won't say that I'm particularly good or bad at 3D, but it's my favorite form of art and my favorite space to make games in.
I thought I already had an account here, since I often find myself browsing the forum, but apparently I didn't! This is a fantastic site and I enjoy looking at all the amazing work from talented artists.
