How did you get such crisp ao maps with all the tight cevases?

Thanks for the question.

I tweaked with the color map in Photoshop first. I desatruated the map and adjusted values for areas to pop out or recede. This helps me out with the normal map as well. Took the final adjusted map into Crazy Bump and messed with the settings. Found a good look and that's how I was able to get the look of the AO map.
