Cant pencil 1 pixel in PS CS6

I've checked my settings against peoples tutorials and I can't get the pencil tool to paint 1 pixel.

I've got a new file 100 x 100 pixels 72 Resolution RGB
I've set my grid to Grid line every 1 pixel and Subdivisions to 1
I'm Using the pencil tool at 1 pixel

The attached pic is what happens when I use the pencil tool, what am I missing?

Windows 8.1 x64 Intel i7

Grid lines should be at every 2 pixels, and subdivisions should also be set to 2, not 1.

(or you can use the pixel grid if you've got gpu accel. running)

Also be sure to check your brush. I´ve noticed that some brushes (in my case, the square ones) can´t be reduced down a certain size. I´m not sure if this is a bug or if it´s intentional.

Thanks, I raised the grid to 4 pixels and then back down to 1. After that the pencil worked fine. Just some weird glitch I guess.
