Marmoset Toolbag Object Animation

Hello I know marmoset toolbag 1 has object animation, such as an idle animation, but does toolbar 2 have the same, and if so how would I make one for it. I know about the .fbv files...I basically have a animation and export the object and skeleton as fbv but when importing into marmoset, nothing happens when I press the "Play" button, Im using Blender3d to do the rigging and animation

Toolbag 2, as of yet, does not include animation support. I'd like to see it and I remember EQ saying that they would like to put it back in, but there was no ETA on that.

Yeah right now there is no animation support in Toolbag2 but this is something we're hoping to support.

Hello! Is there any workaround if I want to only make a turntable of my geometry model ONLY? I want my camera, lights and sky to remain static while the object rotates on the Y axis.
I know if mtb2 you have scene turntable, but that also rotates the lights...

Yes, drag the lights onto the sky object, that will prevent them from being rotated with the scene rotation type.

Character animation support is something I would love to see in Toolbag 2.

I ideally want to be able to display real-time characters in my portfolio without the users needing to download a plugin.

I've had issues trying to get Unity 5's Webgl to work properly. Still seems like a Beta work in progress thing.

The Marmoset viewer seems ideal, but I just want my characters animated. It really brings them to life and makes them shine.

Maybe we can have it someday.....?

We're at the R&D stage for animation support. We're thinking about supporting Alembic for TB2, which is essentially vertex-baked animation which means no special exporters or rig restraints would be required. This sounds ideal to us, but it complicates things for Marmoset Viewer. With complex meshes, Alembic requires very large amounts of data (hundreds of MBs), which won't work well on the web.

We understand the desire for animation content in both TB2 and Viewer, and it's something we hope to add in a future version.

That's great that you guys are looking into it. I had no idea about large data requirements when it comes to animated characters in your browser. But it makes sense. Especially if you combine that with all the other impressive features of Toolbag 2.
