Hey guys! Thought I would start something new, here's my first asset.
I plan on creating a ship on a shore, a building and a few props.

i already saw your thread, the concept is quite awesome
for the shield: i created the lowpoly in maya with the nails as floating geometry for baking, sculpted it in zbrush but used xnormal for baking. then just painting over AO + cavity in PS.
next thing to create is either a first viking building or the longboat.
Haha :-) this time i thought i'd do it this way, so i'll definitely have a few finished assets no matter what. But I'm starting the viking ship right now
still a lot to do, but it's slowly getting there
At least, it has two decks or one deck and a cargo hold. Just think about - such ship could have been in the sea up for several month, and there should be place at least for loot, not mention about food, water, armor, wounded warriors, slaves, supplies, etc.
Nice boat, anyway.
if its of any insperation to you, I visited here once and the boat was amazing, i loved the swooping lines of the planks. You maybe have plenty of ref, but no harm in pointing out some more
On this ref. I can see some...but maybe wooden? Dunno. Another thing: bad scale of the side and nails.
also the ship looks really small at the moment, dont know if that is intentional or not.
